Wires and cables are a very important part of your system and necessary to do something when you want to do it right.
If you compare proper wires in a Audio Video system to tires on your car. People start to understand why they are important. I do not recommend putting Ferrari tires on a Honda. There are wires that transparent sells to match the performance of any system. Transparent Audio wires and cables are the best sounding and looking wires I have every sold. Keep in mind it is the job of the wires and interconnects to pass the sound and picture with out any changes to the signal.
Transparent Audio does a lot of things that are unique with the networks and the quality of construction that has made them the best. What I want to talk about here is the changes they made moving on the the MM2 technology.
The new MM2 technology is a leap in sound quality. You really jump a level, or in some cases two levels of sound quality from the previous generation. The previous model of Reference XL do not sound quite as good as the MM2 Reference speaker wires!
There is not just one thing that was changed there was a number of little changes that went into these wires.
The listing on the Transparent white paper on there web site lists it out perfectly:
- Network design advances
- Network assembly improvements
- More precise network component matching
- Connector technology advances with non-electromagnetic connector covers
- More precise custom calibration of the networks to match the impedance characteristics of associated components.
The networks serves lots of purposes in this wire system. The impedance of a wire effects the whole system. Solid state and tube amps and preamps have different impedance outputs and are greatly effected by the wire if not corrected. With the Reference series of wires that include opus MM, Reference MM, Reference XL and Reference Interconnects and Speaker Cables, they are able to match with the components you have purchased.
I made the investment to my own system. One of my friends who could just care less about this audio stuff came over and when I turned on my system he asked if I had purchased new speakers. He could not believe that the only thing i changed was the wires and they would have made that much of a difference.
